iPhone 4S Battery Problem Solution Coming

Apple's new iPhone 4S has been dogged with draining battery faults affecting a large percentage of users.
Instead of the up to 8 hours talk time promised by the company, the world's most popular Smartphone users soon discovered that their iPhone batteries were draining in a fraction of that time.

The blame has been placed firmly at the door of the new iOS5 which powers the iPhone 4S. Some users had added the new iOS5 to their older iPhone 4 Smartphones, only to see them develop a similar issue.

iPhone 4S battery supposed to last for 200 hours on standby
The problem has only come to light since a forum poster made a comment on Apple's forum about a battery problem on October 15th.
By yesterday, the comments had grown to 217 pages!

The iPhone 4S was only released on October 14th, 2011.

Apple had strenuously denied a design flaw, but users discovered that by disconnecting the iPhone 4S's automatic time update function, their battery life lengthened considerably, but not to the rate promised by Apple.

Later yesterday Apple finally acknowledged that there is a problem specifically with the new iOS5, and that a software fix will become available within weeks.

Pirates have taken control of a Greek-owned oil tanker, the MT Halifax, off the coast of southern Nigeria, reports from the BBC have said.

The ship's owners lost contact with the crew on the 30th of October, 2011. The International Maritime Bureau have stated that the 25 man crew are being held in captivity, and that the pirates are expected to steal the ship's load of crude and refined oil products.

The captain is believed to be Italian, while his crew is made up of a mixture of Indians and Filipinos.

Previous ship hi-jackings have resulted in the safe release of the crew afterwards, although worryingly pirate attacks are on the increase off the West African coast.

Victims of Somalians pirates have not been so lucky. They tend to demand ransoms rather than steal the ship's cargo, and then murder their victims if the ransom is not paid in time.

The UN have urged African nations to step up naval patrols in the region.
